I love outdoor weddings! This summer London wedding was blessed with good sunny weather that, lately, had been so sporadic. Kithmini and Simon had their cultural wedding combining Sri Lankan and English traditions in Danson Park – a place full of memories for Kit. Both groom (first) and the bride were led to the Poruwa ceremony by Sri-Lankan dancers and met on a beautifully decorated platform called poruwa too. This Sinhalese ceremony involves a number of rituals performed by bride, groom and their families.
After the ceremony we strolled around Danson Park to take wedding photographs before joining the guests for wedding dinner. Before the sunset I stole the couple for a few more golden hour portraits.
Here is a selection of photos from this fun filled day.
