I am simply honoured that I had been asked to photograph the second day of wedding celebrations of Kit and Simon. After their cultural ceremony here in London, they had their civil ceremony in Heather Glen, Cumbria where Simon’s family home is. Stunning colours of Kit’s wedding sari looked amazing against the ivy on walls and it is one of my favourite photos! Rustic bouquet in purple and pink and coordinating thistle buttonholes matched Kit and Simon’s outfits perfectly. Although it was a rainy afternoon, we managed to get a 10 min window to get some outdoors portraits!
It was wonderful to see and speak to many family and friends who I met just a month ago. There has been a lovely atmosphere at this intimate wedding and I felt incredibly welcome.
I feel fortunate to travel with my work and at times, like this one, to combine a bit of leisure with it. So our little family of three set off for an adventure to Lake District the day before the wedding and stayed one day more afterwards too. We had a great time hiking as much as our little one managed, taking many landscape photos of course and driving through Wrynose Passage which is the narrowest, steepest little thread of a road through the region. The views are simply breathtaking. But maybe I will write another blog post with some photos instead!
