London Andaz Weddings & 1901 Ballroom

Wedding Photography at Andaz London Liverpool Street

If you’re planning a wedding at Andaz, you’ve probably already fallen in love with its unique mix of history and modern boutique design. As a recommended Andaz wedding photographer, it’s a venue I keep coming back to - for its atmosphere and photogenic interiors, as well as the level of service and friendly team that make this London venue a dream to work at.

Set in the heart of London, just moments from Liverpool Street, the hotel blends its origins as the 1884 Great Eastern Hotel with a more contemporary, design-led feel. It’s this contrast that gives every wedding here a real sense of originality.

What I love most about Andaz Hotel is that it offers all that is needed for a wonderful and relaxed wedding experience. You can move from the hotel rooms where you get ready in the morning, to ceremony to drinks, into dinner and straight through to the party without ever leaving the building - but it never feels repetitive. Each space has its own identity.

The 1901 Ballroom is often the highlight. It’s grand without being overwhelming, with art deco interiors and beautiful light that shifts throughout the day. Then there are the more modern areas of the hotel like the Gallery or 1901 Lounge Bar, which bring in more contemporary feel for relaxed or formal drinks receptions. Andaz London also offers other smaller reception spaces like the Bishopsgate or Fenchurch rooms also licenced for ceremonies. Overall, the capacity of this venue is impressive!

A ONE-OF-A-KIND London Wedding Venue

The 1901 Ballroom is the heart of an Andaz wedding and, for many couples, the reason they book the venue in the first place. It’s a Grade II listed space with a striking stained-glass dome and art deco detailing that gives the room a real sense of occasion without feeling overly formal and it does not need much in terms of decor. The light here is beautiful and soft, perfect for wedding photography, and it transitions easily into an evening reception space, and a spacious dancefloor. 1901 Ballroom is ideal for larger weddings at Andaz.

The Masonic Temple at Andaz London is, without question, one of the most unforgettable spaces to photograph - and it always feels like a hidden discovery within the venue. Concealed behind heavy, studded doors, the Temple is an impressive space for a wedding reception.

Originally built in 1912 and once used exclusively by Freemasons of the City, this Grade I listed room carries a real sense of history. The Grecian-style architecture, marble columns, and - most notably - the intricate gold and blue zodiac ceiling create a setting that feels rich, immersive, and completely unique for an Andaz London wedding. It’s dramatic and works beautifully for couples looking for a more atmospheric, less traditional reception space.

It is ideal for smaller weddings.

Fenchurch is one of the softer, more understated spaces at Andaz, and it works beautifully for a more intimate Andaz London wedding. With its high Victorian ceilings and large windows overlooking Liverpool Street, the room is filled with natural daylight throughout the day, which makes it particularly well suited for ceremonies (licensed for marriages),, drinks recepion and smaller wedding breakfasts.

The light blue walls and ornate detailing give it a calm, elegant feel without being overly formal. It is ideal for smaller celebrations or as part of a multi-space wedding at Andaz in London.

From a photography point of view, it’s incredibly easy to work in with lots of natural light and neutral wall colours that are flattering.

Bishopsgate is a classic Victorian room at Andaz, and a beautiful option for a more traditional Andaz London wedding ceremony. With its original cornicing, statement chandeliers, fireplaces, and touches of modern art, the room offers a touch of historic elegance.

It works particularly well for ceremonies, with space for up to around 80 guests and multiple layout options, and the adjoining Chancery Room offers a natural extension for guest arrival, drinks, or a relaxed transition into the next part of the day.
For couples planning an Andaz wedding, you could host smaller reception there or move to 1901 Ballroom for the rest of the celebrations. Explore real Andaz weddings captured in this room below.

We really cannot stress enough how happy we were to have Jo with us on our big day!
She is the PERFECT balance of the most professional but also most personable and comfortable person to have with us. We felt like we already knew each other. You can tell she is extremely organized and has a wealth of knowledge on not just photography, but also wedding logistics and timekeeping. She kept in touch leading up to our wedding and sent questionnaires and really got to know us and our wishes deeply, far beyond just photography style. On the day, she kept us very relaxed and gave just enough direction to ensure we'd be happy with the results, and was AMAZING at keeping time and keeping us to our schedule without us feeling rushed. She was always in the right place at the right time to capture key moments of our night and followed our schedule so closely.
And then the photos. We really couldn't have asked for anything better, every single photo of the 900+ are *perfect.* We got a mix of a few film photos as well, which we love the feel of and add a nice element to the collection. Every correspondence with Jo was so helpful and detailed and thorough. I really could go on and on... If you're thinking about booking with Jo, do yourself a favour and book that intro call ASAP you'll know exactly what I mean!
