I had the absolute pleasure of capturing Cat and Sam’s autumn wedding at the Barn at Botley Hill, and wow – what a day it was! Nestled in the Surrey Hills, the Botley Hill Barn is a luxury yet relaxed wedding venue with a view of rolling hills and stunning sunsets, With a historic ceremony space in a separate building and a spacious wood panelled reception barn featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, this venue offers one of the best countryside wedding locations so close to London! I am excited to share highlights from this Botley Hill Barn wedding photography collection, featuring both film and digital photography.
The weather kept us on our toes with frequent showers and strong winds, but we made the most of every sunny spell and golden-hour glow. The result? Some truly breathtaking portraits that capture the magic of autumn light. I always look for those in-between moments – the wind catching a veil, the laughter between guests, or, in this case, a champagne spray that kicked off the evening celebrations in style!
Speaking of style, Cat absolutely owned her lace white dress and the veil! Her bridesmaids wore burnt-orange dresses, a bold and stunning choice that looked incredible against the autumn backdrop. The wedding bouqet and buttonholes featured some gorgeous orange flowers too.
Sam and his groomsmen kept it classic in black tie, bringing an effortlessly cool vibe to the day.
One of my favourite moments when working as a Botley Hill wedding photographer?
The confetti exit! With so many petals flying through the air, creating the perfect frame for the newlyweds. Remember – you can never have too much of confetti, especially if you use natural dried petals – you need baskets. The sparkler photo we did just before the first dance is also a great contender to be my best wedding photo at this Botley Hill Barn wedding. However, I am big fan of vintage vibes that film photography offers, so I love the double exposure portrait too.
