The Brewery wedding with sing-along ceremony

The Brewery Wedding Photography with a sing-along ceremony

Hannah + Alex

With an upcoming anniversary I am sharing a handful of photos from super fun wedding of Hannah and Alex at City of London location – The Brewery. Their ceremony and wedding breakfast were in beautiful, light filled Sugar Room and the party moved to Queen Charlotte’s for late night boogie. I had never witnessed a sing-along ceremony before and it was quite an experience with whole room singing Elvis’ song – Falling in
love and Madness – It must be love. The couple also had a walk in song by Fleetwood
Mac – Everywhere. It was fun wedding and fabulous change from traditional registry ceremony! Hannah and Alex fell in love with the Brewery as their wedding venue being in Central London and offering amazing and delicious food: ”The food was one of the main reasons we booked it and everyone said on our day it was the best wedding food they had ever had!”

It was wonderful to know why they chose us as their Brewery wedding photographers: ”We hit it off with Jo the first time we met her, she was very relaxed but so professional, we knew as soon as we saw some of her shots we wanted to book her. We opted to have her 2nd photographer too so we could get shots of the Alex and his friends coming to the venue. This really told the full story…its not all about the bride…ha! We loved the fact Jo and her partner worked together, which made it even more personal working with them. We loved their energy and passion when taking the shots. They had a job to do to get the best shots for us but they also knew we wanted to enjoy our day so respected that too. I can’t stop looking at the shots we have had so far, all capture the emotion from the day so well!”

Read more about their love story and wedding planning below photos.

Our love story

We met through friends just over 3 years ago, it wasn’t a setup but they had a feeling we would get on! We got engaged after 2 years and married just after our 3rd year anniversary at a venue 5 minutes from where we met!

My wedding dress

I wanted something different…..doesn’t every bride, but after 5 different shops fell in love with my Zavannah dress. Alex cried when he saw me so I have a feeling I picked the right one!!

Wedding styling

I always knew I wanted to do have soft nudes and blush tones so the bridesmaids and flowers worked well together as did the fairy lights at the venue made it all very magical but intimate too. We didn’t really have a theme…well aside from Penguins on the stationery as that is a our nickname for each….cringe I know!

Wedding flowers

We had friends do our flowers, soft tones, blush to work back to the bridesmaid dresses and lots of foliage. We wanted a few statements pieces and the large vases on some of the tables did that.

Our fun sing-along wedding ceremony

We wanted to make our ceremony different so had 2 songs instead of hymns which went down very well. Everyone really sung their hearts out which was great! We had 2 readings too. We didn’t tailor our vows as the service offered by the registrar suited us both – Marriage is a Promise which as part of the vows makes reference to ‘will you be my friend’ which both made us teary as we are best friends!

Our first dance song

David Bowie – Lets Dance – we wanted something fun instead of cheesy and it went down very well!

We had a guitar player who is a friend of ours play during the reception drinks and then the evening we had Djs all of which were friends.

Our favourite part of the day

The ceremony, it was so emotional but so fun too! Wish we could do it again!

Wedding planning advice

Try and take in each moment of the day, it goes so quickly! Make the wedding your own, try not to get bogged down in wedding blogs, they will drive you crazy, if you can’t think of a theme so what, just make sure everything you do is you!  Remember its a celebration of you so have fun, we definitely did…once the nerves and tears had subsided!

Hannah and Alex’s wedding is also featured on pages of London Wedding Magazine right now!
