Charlotte and Sam picked the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall in London for their ceremony – a perfect place for a city wedding. After exchanging vows, the couple made a stylish departure in a vintage Triumph Herald Convertible, heading to their reception at the historic Brunswick House wedding venue in Vauxhall. Upon arrival, they were greeted by the lively tunes of a walking band. The band later led them and their guests upstairs to the reception room, setting a joyous tone for the evening.
Notably, this stunning wedding was also featured by Love My Dress!
Originally surrounded by five and a half acres of parkland with its own jetty, it now resides amidst the urban landscape of London, offering a unique blend of historic grandeur and eclectic charm. Inside, the reception was filled with heartfelt speeches and thoughtful details, specifically – personalized books as favours for each guest – a literary touch that reflected the couple’s personalities. Lastly, the evening culminated in the basement bar, where subsequently drinks flowed and dancing ensued, creating unforgettable memories for all.
In addition to digital photography, I used my 35mm film camera to infuse a vintage photography aesthetic into their photos. As always, as a documentary wedding photographer, I aimed to capture the fun and emotive atmosphere of Charlotte and Sam’s celebration within the antique-filled interiors of Brunswick House. I loved that Charlotte embraced her long train, letting it flow gracefully as we took gently guided but more editorial portraits.
Here is a set of highlights from Charlotte and Sam’s Brunswick House wedding photography collection.
The Experience
From the moment I met Charlotte and Sam at the Old Marylebone Town Hall, they were all smiles. Every part of the day was pure joy – from the heartfelt vows to the relaxed portrait session, emotional speeches (yes, there were happy tears!), to the dancing the night away at Brunswick House.
Charlotte’s dress? Absolute perfection for her (little secret – the sleeves were detachable!). But another key point, and what really stood out, is how she owned it. She let the train drag on the floor, swished it around, and didn’t hold back for a second. That’s exactly how it should be! Your dress isn’t just something to wear; it’s part of the experience. So let it sweep the floor, move with you, and soak up all those unforgettable moments.
Here is what the couple said about their experience of working with me:
I wanted to say how thrilled we are that we chose you to be our photographer. Neither of us likes having our photos taken (and subsequently rarely get a good photo together) and you made it so effortless, thus the pictures are just out of this world.
We’ve had calls from every family member and friend who’s seen these to say how exquisite they are. And even a couple who’ve said we look like a model wedding for Vogue so we’ll take that, thank you!
They are perfect. It so captures the day and the effortless but romantic feel we wanted. I can’t thank you enough.
