Peckham and The Asylum Chapel pre wedding shoot

The Asylum wedding photographer

I had a pleasure to be The Asylum wedding photographer a few times. ‘The Asylum’ is a dream wedding venue for many couples; it is definitely a hot place for many London wedding photographers! The decaying walls, stained glass and tens of candles create a stunning scenery for an alternative wedding photography.

Clem and Tim live next door to the Asylum Chapel in Peckham. I was super happy when they suggested we go there for their pre wedding photography. I am frankly in love with this place. Sadly, right now the adjacent housing estate is being renovated and thus surrounded by scaffolding what slightly thwarted our plans to take more photos outside the Asylum Chapel. Fortunately, we were able to go inside and take a few photos while the venue team decorated it for a wedding later on that day.

Beside being a home to the Asylum Chapel, Peckham offers a quirky environment, quite perfect for an alternative engagement photography. Clem and Tim were up for an unusual take on engagement photography and we spent some time around a railway arches business park (some people will find it weird but the colours of bins and shutters caught my eye!). Afterwards, we moved towards Bussey Building at Copeland Park. It is a creative hub and home to many amazing initiatives like Copeland Gallery, Electric Pedals (pedal powered cinema) and a number of yummy food places. I can’t wait to be the Asylum wedding photographer again this year with a wedding reception in the heart of Peckham!

It was a great morning hanging out with these two lovely
people and I really like the outcome.

Clem and Tim – hope you like your photos!
